Well, I’m not really surprised, just disappointed that Scott Brown met my expectations as a RINO. Scott Brown voted yesterday with the Democrats in a “jobs bill” procedural vote.
This bill is nothing more than more borrowed government money being thrown at a gargantuan problem…and will get little to no results in providing jobs.
Scott Brown wrote this on his Facebook page yesterday:
“I came to Washington to be an independent voice, to put politics aside, and to do everything in my power to help create jobs for Massachusetts families. This Senate jobs bill is not perfect. I wish the tax cuts were deeper and broader, but I am voting for it because it contains measures that will help put people back …to work. … I hope for improvements in that process going forward.”
He is getting blasted in Facebook for his vote, as well he should.
For a guy who campaigned on being the 41st vote, he is looking an awful lot more like the 60th vote already.
Seem Mr. Brown was good for one thing…disrupting the Socialist healthcare debaucle in Congress. One. Trick. Pony.
(David L Ryan/Globe Staff)
He just drove his pick up truck over the notion of filibuster proof Senate.
(Does that make him a One “Truck” Pony?)
The Senate jobs bills is not perfect? Well, I hate to inform the freshman Senator from Massachusetts but there is not “perfect” jobs bill because the government does not create jobs.
You wish tax cuts were deeper and broader? Well tax cuts will create the confidence for employers to hire again. More spending and more messages from Congress that “temporary” help is on the way does not inspire confidence. We are sailing in some pretty sloppy economic seas right now. Now is not the time to “settle” on something that does more harm than good to our economy.
Improvements in the process? As Michelle Malkin points out this is business-as-usual from the get go:
My next question is for Sen. Brown: You vowed to end business-as-usual in Washington. But Dingy Harry Reid bought off Voinovich with a business-as-usual legislative bribe. How is this change, Sen. Brown?….
……Moreover, as I pointed earlier this month, the Reid jobs bill is not the final version of the bill, but a “work in progress” that will inevitably be crammed with more pay-offs in backroom deals before the final vote. Republicans were not allowed to amend the bill.
Smells like more of the same old, same old.
I’m disappointed in Scott Brown, but really not surprised. He is, after all, from liberal Massachusetts. Which is exactly why he took the chance to vote yes on a liberal bill. Gotta keep that liberal base happy in Taxachussetts.
I hoped you would be more principled than that, Mr. Brown. No such luck.
