American Thinker: If George W. Bush Had…

Simple subtle points for the more liberal, progressive, Obamabots to consider.

If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within ten years, would you have concurred?

If George W. Bush had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read, would you think he was just an ignorant hothead?

If George W. Bush joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder whose side he was on?

If George W. Bush had put 87,000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling merely because one company had an accident, would you have thought this was disproportionate and harmful to American workers?

If George W. Bush had forced a change in your health care coverage even though the majority of people did not seek or approve of these changes, would you begin to worry about an abuse of power by the executive branch of the government?

If George W. Bush continually bashed the United States and seemed to side with known dictators, would you feel comfortable?

If George W. Bush had been the first president to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how linguistically inept he is?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in New York City, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have endorsed this move?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have chuckled with approval?

If George W. Bush had given British Prime Minister Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, would you have considered this shabby and not befitting proper presidential protocol?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have been taken aback?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his Cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current with their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had stated that there were 57 states in the United States, would you have said that he is an embarrassment?

There’s more…read them all here.

Krauthammer: The Last Refuge of a Liberal

This piece has been out for a few days, but I haven’t had a chance to add it to my blog until now.

Charles Krauthammer skewers the libs and their repetitive cries of “bigotry” against those who dare to disagree and actively work against their statist, collectivist, and controlling agenda.

I am going to cover Krauthammer’s last paragraph first…because it is priceless in its ability to call out the Dems for what they are:

The Democrats are going to get beaten badly in November. Not just because the economy is ailing. And not just because Obama over-read his mandate in governing too far left. But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.

I am a PROUD member of the great unwashed…and I can’t wait to wash the floor with these hypocritical elites in November!

To begin, Krauthammer points out the Obama/liberal agenda and its fall from grace:

Liberalism under siege is an ugly sight indeed. Just yesterday it was all hope and change and returning power to the people. But the people have proved so disappointing. Their recalcitrance has, in only 19 months, turned the predicted 40-year liberal ascendancy (James Carville) into a full retreat. Ah, the people, the little people, the small-town people, the “bitter” people, as Barack Obama in an unguarded moment once memorably called them, clinging “to guns or religion or” — this part is less remembered — “antipathy toward people who aren’t like them.”…….That’s a polite way of saying: clinging to bigotry.

Yep, the “hope” and “change” of 2008 has turned into the “Nope” and “Power change” of 2010….thank God, the American people have not ALL swallowed the Obama administration’s false “hope” and his  intent to change our country and move it forever away from our Founding Documents and the intents of our Founders.

Sure, our country has slowly been sliding away from its Founding principles for  years, but the advent of Obama and an unchecked Democratic Congress has rapidly shown the Progressive/Liberal collectivism, relativism, and globalism for what it is…..destruction of our country on a grand scale.   And America doesn’t like it.

Thank God Almighty the comfortable masses are awakening in this midst of this daily nightmare.

Krauthammer continues:

And promiscuous charges of bigotry are precisely how our current rulers and their vast media auxiliary react to an obstreperous citizenry that insists on incorrect thinking.

— Resistance to the vast expansion of government power, intrusiveness and debt, as represented by the Tea Party movement? Why, racist resentment toward a black president.

— Disgust and alarm with the federal government’s unwillingness to curb illegal immigration, as crystallized in the Arizona law? Nativism.

— Opposition to the most radical redefinition of marriage in human history, as expressed in Proposition 8 in California? Homophobia.

— Opposition to a 15-story Islamic center and mosque near Ground Zero? Islamophobia.

Now we know why the country has become “ungovernable,” last year’s excuse for the Democrats’ failure of governance: Who can possibly govern a nation of racist, nativist, homophobic Islamophobes?

Note what connects these issues. In every one, liberals have lost the argument in the court of public opinion. Majorities — often lopsided majorities — oppose President Obama’s social-democratic agenda (e.g., the stimulus, Obamacare), support the Arizona law, oppose gay marriage and reject a mosque near Ground Zero.

Not to mention our disgust at the new power czar structure Obama has put in place; massive deficits, spending, and debt; Obama’s hypocritical flip-flop/credit-taking on the Iraq War success; Congress’ inability to read monstrous bill’s before passing them; and deeming anything from healthcare to budgets as passed–without debate and bipartisan input.

I have no empathy for those who ASK to play in politics. Obama ASKED for the job of President and Pelosi/Reid slobbered all over their constituents awaiting their turn at grand power.

When they signed up for it, the American people came as part of the package. Resorting to calling them bigots, classifying them as terrorists, racists, and Islamophobes when they disagree shows the smallness of the individuals doing the name-calling.

Let’s take the Tea Party:

The most venerable of these trumps is, of course, the race card. When the Tea Party arose, a spontaneous, leaderless and perfectly natural (and traditionally American) reaction to the vast expansion of government intrinsic to the president’s proudly proclaimed transformational agenda, the liberal commentariat cast it as a mob of angry white yahoos disguising their antipathy to a black president by cleverly speaking in economic terms.

Arizona’s SB1070 immigration law:

Then came Arizona and S.B. 1070. It seems impossible for the left to believe that people of good will could hold that: (a) illegal immigration should be illegal, (b) the federal government should not hold border enforcement hostage to comprehensive reform, i.e., amnesty, (c) every country has the right to determine the composition of its immigrant population.

And California’s Proposition 8….passed by a vote of the PEOPLE, overturned by a rogue judge:

As for Proposition 8, is it so hard to see why people might believe that a single judge overturning the will of 7 million voters is an affront to democracy? And that seeing merit in retaining the structure of the most ancient and fundamental of all social institutions is something other than an alleged hatred of gays particularly since the opposite-gender requirement has characterized virtually every society in all the millennia until just a few years ago?

And the latest atrocity — the Ground Zero mosque:

…The intelligentsia is near unanimous that the only possible grounds for opposition is bigotry toward Muslims. This smug attribution of bigotry to two-thirds of the population hinges on the insistence on a complete lack of connection between Islam and radical Islam, a proposition that dovetails perfectly with the Obama administration’s pretense that we are at war with nothing more than “violent extremists” of inscrutable motive and indiscernible belief. Those who reject this as both ridiculous and politically correct (an admitted redundancy) are declared Islamophobes, the ad hominem du jour.

In summary, Krauthammer says:

It is a measure of the corruption of liberal thought and the collapse of its self-confidence that, finding itself so widely repudiated, it resorts reflexively to the cheapest race-baiting (in a colorful variety of forms). Indeed, how can one reason with a nation of pitchfork-wielding mobs brimming with “antipathy toward people who aren’t like them” — blacks, Hispanics, gays and Muslims — a nation that is, as Michelle Obama once put it succinctly, “just downright mean”?

I am afraid Mistress Michelle is soon going to see just HOW downright mean we can be when retaliating against the constant poking of her husband’s anti-American agenda every…single…day.

November 2….A day that will live in infamy.

Immigration Reform in Oklahoma helped keep unemployment lower

Contrary to the rhetoric of open borders propagandists, the media, and many pro-amnesty groups regarding the new Arizona law, immigration reform including laws restricting illegal immigration do work!

And in the midst of a major unemployment disaster, made worse with Obama’s policies, come to find out there ARE jobs that Americans WILL do that illegals currently hold.

For some statistical proof of the results of immigration reform you need look no further than the Sooner State: Oklahoma.

From PajamasMedia:

Given the economic damage inflicted on us by the current administration and many state governments, most readers of this column would probably be quite happy to live in a state where:

• The official unemployment rate in March was 6.6%.

• The average unemployment rate in 2009 using the most comprehensive definition was 10.5%, the fourth-lowest in the nation (behind three much smaller states), and far lower than the national average of 16.2%.

• The number of people either working or looking for work has actually grown during the past twelve months (in most states, the labor force has contracted significantly).

• The economy grew in 2008, and probably did so again in 2009.

Unless you live in Oklahoma, you’re not in that state.

What did Oklahoma do about illegal immigration?

It “just so happens” that the Sooner State passed a strict immigration enforcement measure in May 2007, which went into effect six months later. Specifically:

House Bill 1804 was passed by overwhelming majorities in both the House and Senate of the Oklahoma legislature. The measure’s sponsor, State Representative Randy Terrill, says the bill has four main topical areas: it deals with identity theft; it terminates public assistance benefits to illegals; it empowers state and local police to enforce federal immigration laws; and it punishes employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens.

Oklahoma is no longer “O.K.” for illegal aliens, Terrill observes. “When you put everything together in context,” he contends, “the bottom line is illegal aliens will not come here if there are no jobs waiting for them, they will not stay here if there is no government subsidy, and they certainly won’t stay here if they know that if they ever encounter our state and local law enforcement officers, they will be physically detained until they’re deported. And that’s exactly what House Bill 1804 does.”

Just how has Oklahoma fared since the passage of 1804, despite the recession?

Uncle Sam’s Bureau of Economic Analysis reports that the state’s economy grew by 2.7% in 2008, a performance that puts it in the top ten among all states in a year when the national economy only grew by 0.4%. Additionally, information from the Census Bureau shows that the state’s population increased by just under 75,000, or 2%, between July 2007 and July 2009 — in line with the country as a whole. If those results are “painful,” I wonder how Ms. Kohn would characterize what’s going on in Michigan and California? The Sooner State’s economic indicators are comparatively positive just about anywhere one looks. Per capita personal income in Oklahoma grew 2.8% between 2007 and 2009; nationally, it fell by 0.7%. The state’s already puny welfare caseload dropped by 11% in 2007 to under 19,000, and stayed there until June 2009. The number of SNAP/Food Stamp recipients in Oklahoma fell in both 2007 and 2008 by a combined 3.8% while rising 6.5% nationally.Loosened eligibility rules allowing those who don’t really need them and even college-aged children of the well-off to qualify have since made the SNAP/Food Stamp program an unreliable indicator of the true extent of poverty. Oklahoma does have a budget problem that bears watching, but so does the large majority of other states.

Use the Oklahoma example next time the vote-seeking politicians and the “reconquistas” imply that this is not your country and  tell you any differently about enforcing our immigration laws and stripping away “benefits” for those here illegally.

Hitler Youth Program coming to an American town near you soon?

First, Obama and his Socialist friends in Washington have taken away the American Dream from my (and your) children and strapped trillions of dollars of debt on their shoulders….

Now they think they will get their hands on my kids for mandatory Leftist indoctrination sans any religion?  Over my dead body, literally….NO WAY IN HELL!

For starters, let review what candidate Obama had to say on the campaign trail ( and you 52%-ers thought he was just kidding...oh you cards):

And now?  HOUSE PASSES (perhaps MANDATORY?) VOLUNTEERISM BILL FOR YOUTH—SENATE WORKING ON THEIR VERSION OF THE BILL.   Guess there is no question Comrade Obama will be more than happy to sign if passed in the Senate.

From InfoWars.com via Gateway Pundit:

The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, was passed yesterday by a 321-105 margin and now goes to the Senate.

Under section 6104 of the bill, entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, the legislation states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”

UPDATE from SRT: Apparently the final HOUSE bill did not include this section 6104 above, but was included in earlier versions of the bill.  The fact remains that someone in Congress deemed it necessary to include this section AND we will have to wait to see what language makes it into the SENATE version and what the final bill sent to Obama includes.

You know I will give you a lesson or two, Mr. Hussein Obama and Congressional animals, on how to strengthen the social fabric of this Nation….and it won’t cost a taxpayer dime, nor the minds of our children.

How to strengthen the fabric of our Nation in a few easy steps (No Hitler Youth required) by Sharp Right Turn:

  • Stop abortion
  • Punish criminals to the full extent of the law
  • Deport illegal aliens
  • Stop trying to legalize law breakers for your own gain at the voter booth
  • Condemn homosexuality and other sexually deviant behaviors as the pervsersion they are
  • Protect marriage between a man and a woman
  • Stop prohibiting the “Free exercise of religion”
  • Stop suppressing our free speech
  • End illegal and exorbitant taxation on the American people
  • Let parents raise their children…keep your slimy paws off of our kids…PERIOD
  • Stop taking our hard earned money to keep your power
  • Stop spending money the government doesn’t have and has no business spending
  • Stop bailing out irresponsible people and businesses
  • Stop suppressing the will of our country’s individuals with overreaching welfare dollars and plans
  • Stop invoking race to create division among citizens

More from Gateway Pundit:

Section 120 of the bill also discusses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency”.

“The legislation, slated to cost $6 billion over five years, would create 175,000 “new service opportunities” under AmeriCorps, bringing the number of participants in the national volunteer program to 250,000. It would also create additional “corps” to expand the reach of volunteerism into new sectors, including a Clean Energy Corps, Education Corps, Healthy Futures Corps and Veterans Service Corps, and it expands the National Civilian Community Corps to focus on additional areas like disaster relief and energy conservation,” reports Fox News.

From a commenter at Gateway Pundit:

“There is even a provision in the bill for uniforms.”

Not to be outdone by Hitler of course!

You may recall that some minds are already in the creepy phase of indoctrination:

(I had inserted a video of children singing their hearts out toward Obama, but apparently it has permissions on the video now….click link just above for info on these kids singing)

And some have already been mashed to mush in honor of Comrade Obama:

But that’s not all — this House Bill specifically dedicates many words to the complete absence of religion and pseudo absence of free speech for those youth who are forced volunteer:

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

(1) Attempting to influence legislation.

(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.

(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

A reminder, again, from a commenter at Gateway Pundit…this is entirely unconstitutional:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech,
or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

In the famous words of Joe Biden, “Gird you loins” people…..we are in the fight of our lives, and, unfortunately, many of those we would normally consider on our side are not (ie silence of Republicans in Congress…some in the House even voted for the pile of crap).

Barnes: Ten Great Bush Achievements

BushFred Barnes outlines succintly 10 of the top achievements of George W. Bush and his Presidency.  Despite Bush’s having to fight a war from within (against liberal idiot kooks in Congress and the Media, to name two) and despite having to (STILL) listen to the lies and fables concocted by the same people, Bush achieved a great deal domestically and internationally….

While I don’t pretend to agree with some of the things Bush has done (support illegals and bailouts by the trillions), I do believe history will be exponentially kinder to our President #43 than the media and his enemies (but I repeat myself) have been.

Also, I wanted to document these items from Barnes “for the record”….so that when some liberal blogger in six months tries to claim that Obama’s ascension somehow won the war in Iraq, or that Obama somehow “repaired” ties to Asian countries, including India, I can direct them back to this point in time ( and this blog post) to the truth.

bush_jogging-with-soldierFor all of his liberal fiscal tendencies, I believe George W. Bush is a decent and honest man.  I believe he held the office with grace and dignity under some of the most vile venom ever spewed at a President.  I believe he held immense respect for the office of President and he embraces the Constitution and the freedoms we enjoy.

I give him all of the credit in the world, literally, for LEADING us through one of the worst times in American history, September 11, 2001, and for keeping us save for the 7 1/2 years following.

Heckuva job, W!

Here’s the list:

The postmortems on the presidency of George W. Bush are all wrong. The liberal line is that Bush dangerously weakened America’s position in the world and rushed to the aid of the rich and powerful as income inequality worsened. That is twaddle. Conservatives–okay, not all of them–have only been a little bit kinder. They give Bush credit for the surge that saved Iraq, but not for much else.

He deserves better. His presidency was far more successful than not. And there’s an aspect of his decision-making that merits special recognition: his courage. Time and time again, Bush did what other presidents, even Ronald Reagan, would not have done and for which he was vilified and abused. That–defiantly doing the right thing–is what distinguished his presidency.

Bush had ten great achievements (and maybe more) in his eight years in the White House, starting with his decision in 2001 to jettison the Kyoto global warming treaty so loved by Al Gore, the environmental lobby, elite opinion, and Europeans. The treaty was a disaster, with India and China exempted and economic decline the certain result. Everyone knew it. But only Bush said so and acted accordingly.

He stood athwart mounting global warming hysteria and yelled, “Stop!” He slowed the movement toward a policy blunder of worldwide impact, providing time for facts to catch up with the dubious claims of alarmists. Thanks in part to Bush, the supposed consensus of scientists on global warming has now collapsed. The skeptics, who point to global cooling over the past decade, are now heard loud and clear. And a rational approach to the theory of manmade global warming is possible.

Second, enhanced interrogation of terrorists. Along with use of secret prisons and wireless eavesdropping, this saved American lives. How many thousands of lives? We’ll never know. But, as Charles Krauthammer said recently, “Those are precisely the elements which kept us safe and which have prevented a second attack.”

Crucial intelligence was obtained from captured al Qaeda leaders, including 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, with the help of waterboarding. Whether this tactic–it creates a drowning sensation–is torture is a matter of debate. John McCain and many Democrats say it is. Bush and Vice President Cheney insist it isn’t. In any case, it was necessary. Lincoln once made a similar point in defending his suspension of habeas corpus in direct defiance of Chief Justice Roger Taney. “Are all the laws but oneto go unexecuted, and the government itself go to pieces, lest that one be violated?” Lincoln asked. Bush understood the answer in wartime had to be no.

Bush’s third achievement was the rebuilding of presidential authority, badly degraded in the era of Vietnam, Watergate, and Bill Clinton. He didn’t hesitate to conduct wireless surveillance of terrorists without getting a federal judge’s okay. He decided on his own how to treat terrorists and where they should be imprisoned. Those were legitimate decisions for which the president, as commander in chief, should feel no need to apologize.

Defending, all the way to the Supreme Court, Cheney’s refusal to disclose to Congress the names of people he’d consulted on energy policy was also enormously important. Democratic congressman Henry Waxman demanded the names, but the Court upheld Cheney, 7-2. Last week, Cheney defended his refusal, waspishly noting that Waxman “doesn’t call me up and tell me who he’s meeting with.”

Achievement number four was Bush’s unswerving support for Israel. Reagan was once deemed Israel’s best friend in the White House. Now Bush can claim the title. He ostracized Yasser Arafat as an impediment to peace in the Middle East. This infuriated the anti-Israel forces in Europe, the Third World, and the United Nations, and was criticized by champions of the “peace process” here at home. Bush was right.

He was clever in his support. Bush announced that Ariel Sharon should withdraw the tanks he’d sent into the West Bank in 2002, then exerted zero pressure on Sharon to do so. And he backed the wall along Israel’s eastern border without endorsing it as an official boundary, while knowing full well that it might eventually become exactly that. He was a loyal friend.

His fifth success was No Child Left Behind (NCLB), the education reform bill cosponsored by America’s most prominent liberal Democratic senator Edward Kennedy. The teachers’ unions, school boards, the education establishment, conservatives adamant about local control of schools–they all loathed the measure and still do. It requires two things they ardently oppose, mandatory testing and accountability.

Kennedy later turned against NCLB, saying Bush is shortchanging the program. In truth, federal education spending is at record levels. Another complaint is that it forces teachers to “teach to the test.” The tests are on math and reading. They are tests worth teaching to.

Sixth, Bush declared in his second inaugural address in 2005 that American foreign policy (at least his) would henceforth focus on promoting democracy around the world. This put him squarely in the Reagan camp, but he was lambasted as unrealistic, impractical, and a tool of wily neoconservatives. The new policy gave Bush credibility in pressing for democracy in the former Soviet republics and Middle East and in zinging various dictators and kleptocrats. It will do the same for President Obama, if he’s wise enough to hang onto it.

The seventh achievement is the Medicare prescription drug benefit, enacted in 2003. It’s not only wildly popular; it has cost less than expected by triggering competition among drug companies. Conservatives have deep reservations about the program. But they shouldn’t have been surprised. Bush advocated the drug benefit in the 2000 campaign. And if he hadn’t acted, Democrats would have, with a much less attractive result.

Then there were John Roberts and Sam Alito. In putting them on the Supreme Court and naming Roberts chief justice, Bush achieved what had eluded Richard Nixon, Reagan, and his own father. Roberts and Alito made the Court indisputably more conservative. And the good news is Roberts, 53, and Alito, 58, should be justices for decades to come.

Bush’s ninth achievement has been widely ignored. He strengthened relations with east Asian democracies (Japan, South Korea, Australia) without causing a rift with China. On top of that, he forged strong ties with India. An important factor was their common enemy, Islamic jihadists. After 9/11, Bush made the most of this, and Indian leaders were receptive. His state dinner for Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh in 2006 was a lovefest.

Finally, a no-brainer: the surge. Bush prompted nearly unanimous disapproval in January 2007 when he announced he was sending more troops to Iraq and adopting a new counterinsurgency strategy. His opponents initially included the State Department, the Pentagon, most of Congress, the media, the foreign policy establishment, indeed the whole world. This makes his decision a profile in courage. Best of all, the surge worked. Iraq is now a fragile but functioning democracy.

How does Bush rank as a president? We won’t know until he’s judged from the perspective of two or three decades. Hindsight forced a sharp upgrading of the presidencies of Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower. Given his achievements, it may have the same effect for Bush.

A new 20-pt fact checker for clueless Obama supporters

I am developing this post in honor of those liberals that post on my site without any facts and for the millions of clueless, puppy love Obama supporters across the country.

The video outlines that we don’t know who Obama actually is.  The video points out various issues and topics where Obama has told differing stories, flip-flopped, or just plain lied.

After the video is a list of 20 points put together by Right Werds, Korrekt Speech.  The fact check list is backed up with links press and even lefty talking head coverage….hard to refute.

Thoughts for Obama: The Real Reasons We “Cling”

I’ve had the weekend to mull over the comments that Obama made to the elite San Francisco group last week.  To refresh my readers, his comments regarding economic conditions and the reactions of people in “small town Pennsylvania” were:

“It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Of course, he made his (non-apology) apology over the weekend:

…”I didn’t say it as well as I should have…..(it was) a typical sort of political flare-up because I said something that everybody knows is true…..(and later he said)….    “Obviously, if I worded things in a way that made people offended, I deeply regret that”

So the reaction to his statement was just “typical political flare-up” (by “typical” white people, no doubt), but every word was true!?!?!  And we all know it because he said so!

Maybe it is hiding there in the same place where Obama is trying to hide his disdain for this country and its people, but no where do I see Obama’s apology

  • to those who believe in the 2nd Amendment;
  • to those who own guns for many different reasons;
  • to those who believe in the God of the Bible and regularly choose to worship him;
  • and those who Obama deems as anti-immigrant and racist because they believe in securing the borders and allowing ONLY legal immigration.

Obama is an elitist, arrogant, condescending politician just like most other lefty liberals and he is totally out of touch with Americans.  His statements prove that to be the case.

I don’t for a minute even make the connection Obama does between jobs/economics and guns, religion and immigration.  But, just for the purpose of making a point, let’s just use that image of Americans CLINGING to their guns, religion, culture and way of life!

Because Obama is so out of touch, he may not even realize he had to make up reasons why Americans would do things for which he doesn’t agree.  Obama, may I point out what you didn’t consider?  Here is why the average American may, in this day and age, be clinging a little tighter to many elements of their lives:

1) Guns – Obama you are a gun control nut on steroids…your beliefs would have us regulate the 2nd Amendment away.  (along with most other liberal Democrats)  You continue to stick to the notion that all guns are bad and the utopia is making the gun owner the criminal.

In light of that fact, many Americans, in order to defend themselves and their families believe in what I call the“Heston Doctrine”: FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS!

Obama, many Americans follow that doctrine and it has nothing to do with economics and jobs and everything to do with your ideology!

2) Religion – Those of deep religious faith, and particularly Christians, don’t worship because of some economic policy.  Faith is derived and practiced for many reasons:  religious background, true belief in the God of the Bible, life experiences, and more.    For most, Christianity is a deeply held belief based on God’s Word in the Bible and backed by years of historical documentation.  In addition, our country and laws were founded on Judeo-Christian principles.

Most of us don’t hold your Marxist views about religion.  From NewsBusters:

Karl Marx (1843)  says:  Religion is the opiate of the masses.

Barack Obama (2008) says: It’s not surprising that they get bitter, they cling to . . . religion . . . as a way to explain their frustrations.

Obama , your moral relativism and Marxism is offensive to many Americans.  When you and those of your liberal stripes passionately defend abominations to God (abortion, homosexuality, prayer stricken from schools, Christian beliefs made second class to secuarlism and more), or accuse those of faith that they are weak or religion is a “drug”, we are offended and threatened….

Perhaps these are reasons we CLING to our religion vigorously?

3) Antipathy to those unlike us or against illegal immigration – I suppose you could look in the mirror Obama, for the definition of antipathy to those unlike you.  Your statement accusing Americans of “antipathy to those unlike us” is condescending, wrong, and quite ironic given that you have a strong disdain for America, the country and its people.

And, yes, we are clinging to our American culture and way of life….we are clinging to this one for dear life, Obama.

  • We see the massive movement to condone illegal immigration and lack of border enforcement as an affront to our way of life and livelihood.
  • We see the trend to relegate the English language to secondary status as just plain wrong.
  • We see the push for new defintions of “marriage” and “family” as a threat to the stability of our country, not to mention they are 180 degrees out of phase with what God has demanded.
  • We see the veracity for which you and others will fight to murder babies in the womb — all in the name of choice!
  • We see the inequal justice applied to “hate crimes” where justice is measured based on race and sexual preferences as examples.

I’ve outlined for you where our love of the culture in America isn’t about “those different than us”, Obama, but about the all-out assault on our beliefs, our constitution, our Christianity, and our families.

So, while you were wrong about WHY we are “CLINGING” the fact is, we are clinging tight to many elements of this country and our lives.  That is because you, Obama, and those like you, not only want to loosen our grip on the America we know and love, but cut off our fingers in the process.
