Stimulating the Liberal Cause

Most people hear “stimulus package” and think it means money to the consumer or businesses to move money into the economy. (We can debate later whether THAT even works or not!)

Well, apparently that is not what “stimulus” means to the Socialist Democrats and RINOs in Washington.  To them, it means more welfare, more “green” wasteful spending, and more pork to the groups and constituencies who voted them into office! (you know as they used to say when I was growing up…”you gotta dance with the one who brung ya”)

Well, this “stimulus dance'” DOES NOT give me happy feet…it gives me indigestion.

Do not be mistaken…this so-called “stimulus” is not for OUR economy, but for maintaining Democratic power for years to come!

Amanda Carpenter at Townhall.com, has compiled a list of only a PORTION of the stimuli headed our way in the $825 BBBillion (that is almost an additional $1 TRILLION for those math-challenged readers) UNACCOUNTABLE spending plan outlined by the Democratic-controlled House Appropriations Committee.

Carpenter’s thoughts and the partial list (My thoughts and emphasis in bold and parentheses):

It is frightening………

The highlights of this bill, allegedly crafted to save us from the Wall Street crisis but is obviously being used to fund every hail Mary liberal, entitlement cause under the sun, includes:

(Note……… this is NOT the full list. This is a PORTION. )

-$6 billion to weatherize “modest income homes.(SRT: Welfare)
-$6 billion to provide internet in “underserved” areas (SRT: Welfare)
-$6 billion for “higher education modernization.”
-$20 billion in health information technology to “prevent medial mistakes.”
-$20 billion to increasefood stamp funding (SRT: Welfare)
-$87 billion to provide a “temporary” increase in Medicaid funding
-$300 million to provide rebates for people who purchase Energy Star products
$600 million for the federal government to buy brand new energy efficient cars
-$400 million for state and local governments to buy brand new energy efficient cars
-$2.4 billion for carbon capture demonstration programs
-$350 million to research using energy efficient technology on military bases
-$300 million for grants and loans to state and local governments for projects that reduce diesel emissions, “benefiting public health and reducing global warming”
-$500 million for energy efficient manufacturing demonstration projects.
-$400 million to build major research facilities “that perform cutting edge science”
-$1.5 billion for expanding “good jobs in biomedical research”
-$400 million “to put more scientists to work doing climate change research”
-$600 million for satellite development and acquisitions, including climate sensors and climate modeling.
-$250 million “to address long-term economic distress in urban industrial cores and rural areas distributed based on need and ability to create jobs and attract private investment.”
-$650 million to continue the coupon program to enable American households to convert from analog television transmission to digital transmission.  (SRT thought: Additional funding for a program the government already messed up!  and they think they can run our healthcare, banks, and our lives)
-$300 million for the National Wildlife Refuges and National Fish Hatcheries
-$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts
-$400 million for “ready-to-go habitat restoration projects”
$2 billion to provide child care services for an additional 300,000 children in low-income families while their parents go to work. (SRT:  It takes a village, you know)
-$120 million to provide subsidized community service jobs to an additional 24,000 low-income older Americans (SRT: Welfare)
-$1.5 billion to help local communities build and rehabilitate low-income housing using green technologies. (SRT: Welfare)
-$500 million to rehabilitate and improve energy efficiency at some of the over 42,000 housing units maintained by Native American housing programs
-$10 million for “rural, high-need areas to undertake projects using sustainable and energy-efficient building and rehabilitation practices”

God help us all survive this Socialist, liberal onslaught we are about to endure.

I think I’ll go to DisneyWorld!  (It’s much closer to reality than the world our government lives in)

  1. It is funny you should mention DisneyWorld. I decided last week to take the fam there in mid-February as a pick me up. It is the only place I have ever been where I could not shake being happy all day. If I could live there I think that might just be enough happiness to drive away my post-election anxiety. That is, until the “stimulus” package had its destined effect of shutting our economy down thereby forcing Disney into bankruptcy.

  2. With only 22 percent of Americans voting for this socialistic invasion, one does truly want to go hide for the next four years. But we can’t…too much is at risk.

  3. That is one scary list! It will create a self-perpetuating liberal leadership and more dependency from the masses. Will they finally destroy the country? I used to think it would be hyperbole to ask the question, but here we are.

  4. MK –
Actually – I meant for it to sound like a joke, but my family really did just return today from a trip to Disney World and a Disney Cruise….

So we were enjoying “Tomorrowland” while Obama was sworn in to destroy it…. 🙂

You are right…we were happy the whole time…and didn’t have to be inundated with “Obama worship”….

Now, however, is a different story! Have a great trip when you go….it will be a great respite.

(My husband and I were wondering if we were walking amidst a lot of other Republicans at Disney World….lots of Brazilians….but likely MANY Republicans, too!)

  5. […] Don’t forget these important jewels all of us taxpayers are just dying to be a part of.  From WSJ and other sources: […]

  6. […] we wonder where Obama learned the art of stealing tax dollars to give back to his “partners” and interest […]

  7. […] ….are we now going to find out Obama really is a Socialist? […]
