Update: Obama also needs a history lesson

My post on Obama’s “currency problem” was by no means complete I’ve found out.  I missed a few key details.  I didn’t even cover the part about how wrong Obama and his campaign spokesman were on history!

This is a great (and humorous) post from Big Lizards outlining that none of the great historical leaders appearing on our circulating currency ever served “decades in Washington”…..and Big Lizards so clearly states the point that some who appeared on “those dollar bills” never held the office of President!

Excerpt:

Sadly, it appears that Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs is a bit bewitched, bothered, or bewildered about American history (and currency): Not a single United States President on any denomination of our currency served “decades in Washington” prior to his election. Not one! Not on any of the circulating currency; not on any of the bank bills… and not even any of the three non-presidents who grace our currency or bank bills. (The closest non-president is Treasury Secretary Salmon Chase, with his nineteen years.)

I’m afraid that I must reluctantly conclude either that Barack Obama is completely ignorant of American folding money and/or American history… or else that he really did deal a race card off the bottom of the deck, after all.

But there is something to salvage here; there is definitely a sense in which Obama is totally unlike “all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

They all had great accomplishments in their lives prior to running for the presidency.

Read the whole post….it is enlightening, funny, and pretty much puts the Obama campaign in its place.

  1. Who is making a big deal out of Obama being black? Well let’s see… Uh that would be… Barack Obama and those on the left.

    – At a Jacksonville Florida fund raiser in June: “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. (laughter) They’re gonna…. They’re going to say, “You know what, he’s — he’s — he’s young, inexperienced, and, uh, uh, he’s got a funny name. Did I mention he’s black? (cheers and applause) (Obama laughs) He’s got a feisty wife.”

    – In similar comments at a Chicago fundraiser:”They’re going to try to make me into a scary guy,” he said last week. “They’re even trying to make Michelle into a scary person. Right?” And so that drumbeat – ‘we’re not sure if he’s patriotic or not; we’re not sure if he is too black.’

“I don’t know, before I wasn’t black enough,” said Obama. “‘Now he might be too black. We don’t know whether he’s going to socialize – well, who knows what.'”

    – “The July 21 cover, titled “The Politics of Fear,” is intended to be a parody, an attempt to show how “scare tactics and misinformation” are being used to try to derail Barack Obama’s campaign, says cover artist Barry Blitt.”

    – “So what they are going to do is make you scared of me. You know he’s not patriotic enough. He’s got a funny name. You know, he doesn’t look like those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

If Barack Obama and the left wants me to look past his color then they need to stop pointing it out. It’s clear to me what kind of campaign Barack is going to run… The victim campaign. That’s why I am “scared” of Obama.
