Kerry is a great example of who Democrats really are

John Kerry said today that John McCain is unfit to be Presdent:

John McCain … has proven that he has been wrong about every judgment he’s made about the war. Wrong about the Iraqis paying for the reconstruction, wrong about whether or not the oil would pay for it, wrong about Sunni and Shia violence through the years, wrong about the willingness of the Iraqis to stand up for themselves.

This coming from the guy who “voted for the War before he voted against it”!    That’s great decision making for a leader huh?

For the record, even it if it does reek of politics, McCain had nothing negative to say about Kerry and his effectiveness as a potential President….in fact, his comments on Kerry back in 2004 were quite the opposite of Kerry’s today.  From in 2004, McCain had this to say about Kerry:

“…I do not believe that he is, quote, weak on defense. He’s responsible for his voting record, as we are all responsible for our records, and he’ll have to explain it. But, no, I do not believe that he is necessarily weak on defense. I don’t agree with him on some issues, clearly. But I decry this negativism that’s going on on both sides. The American people don’t need it.”

When asked on “The Early Show” if Kerry’s election would compromise national security, McCain responded: “I don’t think that — I think that John Kerry is a good and decent man. I think he has served his country.”

Democrats are like that, you see… can support them, like them, help them all you want, but when it comes your turn they will stab you in the back every time….there are no principles that most Democrat party leaders will follow.  I just hope the Americans who vote in November are smart enough to see it.

Back to John Kerry and his comments about McCain…..As John Kerry suggests, we don’t need a guy like McCain who has proven leadership in the military and the Senate and who, by the way, endured the wrath of the Vietnamese, while Kerry was lying about his own comrades in Vietnam.

Think about that……in the same war that John McCain was captured, beaten, and tortured by the enemy, John Kerry was saying this about his own peers as if they were the enemy:

(They) had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside

I guess it should be a surprise, then, to no one, that John Kerry accuses McCain of being wrong about Iraq.  Well, there are some issues for which I disagree with McCain, but the war is not one of them.  McCain said LONG ago that more troops were needed to be successful.

Well we have more troops, great successes in Iraq, and even Al-Maliki declaring Al Qaeda has been beaten in Iraq.

Bottom line….how can you take John Kerry seriously?  Here’s a guy who was a proven liar about his military record and a guy who disparages the troops in Iraq as stupid.  Yet, he feels the need to attack a Navy comrade who IS a real hero?

  1. John Kerry never said John McCain would be “unfit to be president”. YOU paraphrased that yourself. Secondly, John Kerry spent YEARS defending John McCain, which I documented here:

I am sorry, but John Kerry doesn’t owe McCain a thing. And, yes, Kerry has a right to speak out on the, ahem, “evolving, I’ll say or do anything to be president” McCain. Kerry knows him best.

  2. Oh well…if it’s documented in the dailykos, then it all MUST be true!

If John Kerry didn’t use the word “unfit”, he danced around it a full 360 degrees. This is a guy who McCain himself defended in 2004. Don’t EVER talk about someone “saying or doing anything” to be President when you’ve got people like Clinton and Obama running around. An even better example of Democrat backstabbing can be submitted in one word…Lieberman.

  3. Beachmom,

McCain isn’t the one having to defend his remarks against a friend named Kerry. But you and the DailyKos Left seem a bit defensive in “proving” Kerry’s devotion to McCain…..that’s telling.

And if Kerry is so friendly with McCain, why he is so willing to be Obama’s attack dog (your words) against all things McCain?

Bottom line….your guy said something he shouldn’t have and like most lefties you won’t admit it….you go to great lengths to defend it.

And I wouldn’t be too quick on the “McCain will say or do anything” speech….your lefty candidate Obama is the master of that tactic….because that is exactly what he’ll have to do to be President…he certainly can’t run on any experience–domestic or foreign policy.
