Obama’s New Math — Punishment=Baby; Reward=Contraceptives + Abortion

I wouldn’t have believed it if I had not heard the audio clip on Hannity today.   The issue is abortion and the person who spoke the words is Obama.

Here’s the transcript from Barack’s campaign stop in Pennsylvania on Saturday (hat tip: Ben Smith at Politico.com):

….”Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old,” he said. “I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn’t make sense to not give them information.”

So God’s biggest miracle is merely a punishment if one of Obama’s daughter’s becomes pregnant? And a an STD falls in the same category?

Well, Obama, look closely, THIS IS NOT CALLED PUNISHMENT, it’s called a baby:

 NRLC.org 5 month-old Baby Fetus (Source:  NRLC.ORG)

And just for the record, Obama and those who believe the protection of babies from their mother’s behavior is “anti-choice”—

We, who wish to protect the lives of unborn babies, do believe in choice.  It’s just that those, who fight to the death (literally) for abortion rights, mischaracterize where the choice occurs

When a woman decides to “sleep” with a man and have sex (or not), the CHOICE IS MADE.

Otherwise, all you have is an excuse to kill an innocent, defenseless human so that the mother 1) doesn’t have to live with her choice to have sex (In Obama-speak, that means punished) and 2) does not have to be inconvenienced in her career, life, marriage, schooling, etc.

From NRLC.org:

Women have cited ‘social reasons’ , not mother’s health or rape/incest as their motivation in approximately 93% of all abortions.

From Obama’s own  campain website

Here is what Obama has done for teen pregnancy:

Voted YES on $100M to reduce teen pregnancy by education & contraceptives

Voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions

and what he has done for the unborn:

Voted against banning partial birth abortion

Trust women to make own decisions on partial-birth abortion

So by Obama’s standards, the rewards for his daughters (and yours and mine if he is elected) will be government sponsored contraceptives, abortion, and abortion without the consent of parents.  What utopia for teens!   No responsiblity, no “punishment”, no parents, just big-Nanny government helping you with your “choices”!

And by Obama’s standards, the rewards for the unborn are murder at the whim of your mother and government, murder by torture (called Partial Birth Abortion by liberals), and no defense of the right to live.

At the very least, Obama’s “punishment” statement was callous and insensitive;  but I believe his impromptu comments convey more what is inside the man.

I’ve said it before, we elect a man of such perverted logic at our own peril.

  1. “And the notion that somehow it’s cute or amusing, or a useful diversion, I think, is something that all of us have to recognize is just not the case. We all have First Amendment rights. And I am a constitutional lawyer and strongly believe in free speech, but as a culture, we really have to do some soul-searching to think about what kind of toxic information are we feeding our kids,”

  2. does it make you feel good to spin something like this? what’s your reward? what’s your intent? when you’re on the road 20 hours a day, does every word out of your mouth come out in a perfect sound bite? are you a father? barack is one. do you really think he looks at a baby as punishment?

at present, i don’t intend to vote for him. but what the country needs to do is stop ‘hannitizing’ this kind of bullsh-t, making mountains out of molehills and keeping the country occupied so that it cannot deal with legitimate issues.

    grow up.

  3. mikerucker,
    Thanks for commenting—-

I am not a father, but a mother, who has taken her responsibilities seriously and not looked at my children as mere punishments!

Yes, I do think Barack Obama looks at children as expendable (or as a punishment). It is not spin when I point to his campaign website where the evidence is there for all to see – Barack Obama believes in abortion vs. reponsibility and he believes in the murder of babies in the womb– and sometimes that murder takes a painful, torturous form. (have you ever read how a partial birth abortion is performed? or a “regular” abortion, no less?)

Spin is when Obama and those of the “anti-life for babies” persuasion call a murder “pro-choice”….that is spin and, unfortunately, it is accepted and shouted from the mainstream media mountaintops as such! But it certainly misrepresents “choice”—the baby has no choice.

Last, it is not making a mountain out of a molehill when the guy running for President would much rather use my tax dollars for indoctrinating young girls into a world of sex for which they are not prepared. And he’d like to do so without my consent. It is not the government’s role to teach sex to my children or any others.

If your idea of “grown up” is teaching children about contraceptives and then telling them abortion is always an option if you “mess up”, then maybe you need to grow up (your words) and understand what real responsibility is!

  4. Great response sharprightturn!

  5. Most of the people who were or would be offened by his statements wouldn’t vote for him anyway.

IMO it is what he is not saying that is troublesome.

  6. GJB,
I agree with you on that!

  7. the train of thought, srt, that would have resulted in his statement is that, well, some people think she should be punished for such a cavalier attitude towards sex, and in their righteousness they fold their arms and say, “well, you did the time (in bed), you do the crime (in 9 months).” in fact, his statement is probably more NOT to look at the baby as just something to use in the quest to “punish” her.

it’s amazing what your brain can do if you pause every now and then to let it catch up with your keyboard.

excellent video at cnn.com yesterday of a judge here in atlanta – marvin arrington – african american superior court judge. he came into his courtroom and saw that the overwhelming majority of people he had to deal with that day were people of his own color. he asked everyone who wasn’t black to leave the courtroom, and he talked straight to them for a few minutes about some things that needed to change or their whole culture was going to go to hell (my words). of course, the media and the sound byters and the ones who’d rather deal in debating points have spun this as “well, everyone should be allowed in the courtroom,” or, “he was being anti-rascist.” bullsh-t: he was cutting through all the gloss and sheen and posturing that tries to pass itself off these days as something of substance when it not only is failing to solve our problems, it’s letting everybody fiddle while rome burns.

you know what obama was trying to say. you knew what the gist of my comment was. you and your readers know what the real issues are.

this isn’t about making “their candidate” look bad.

this is about digging a little deeper now and not allowing apathy, ignorance and misplaced trust to lead us like lambs to the slaughter as they did the past two elections.

i voted for bush – twice. stupidest decisions i’ve made in my life.

but if you want to sit in your circles and slap each other on the back and look for moments you can say, “we got him now!”, then go (sharp) right ahead.

maybe you’ll even get to sit by the teacher at recess today. say, did you get your homework done? i like your new lunch box … what is that, spiderman? hey – let’s go use this magnifying glass and burn some bugs!…

  13. mklasing,
I checked out your blog…..I like it and agree with everything I’ve read so far….
I just added you to my blog roll.

Also, I got to Laurie Kendrick’s site from yours and I was in tears laughing…..Man that blog has some funny stuff!

    Thanks for reading and commenting!

  14. Thanks, I’ve added you as well. and yes, LK is hillarious–she is my blogging mentor so to speak.

  15. This is something I just recieved in my email. If you believe in this or support someone who believes in it, you have no heart and no conscience. I hope after you read this, you get a true picture of what an abortion is.

If you’re gonna act like an adult by having sex, then be prepared to handle the consequences. Think before you act.

Just reading this makes me sick to my stomach that a woman would do this to their child!
In September 1993, Brenda Pratt Shafer, a registered nurse with thirteen years of experience, was assigned by her nursing agency to an abortion clinic. Since Nurse Shafer considered herself “very pro-choice,” she didn’t think this assignment would be a problem.
    She was wrong!!!!!!!

This is what Nurse Shafer saw:

“I stood at the doctor’s side and watched him perform a partial-birth abortion on a woman who was six months pregnant. The baby’s heartbeat was clearly visible on the ultrasound screen. The doctor delivered the baby’s body and arms, everything but his little head. The baby’s body was moving. His little fingers were clasping together. He was kicking his feet. The doctor took a pair of scissors and inserted them into the back of the baby’s head, and the baby’s arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle reaction, like a baby does when he thinks that he might fall. Then the doctor opened the scissors up. Then he stuck the high-powered suction tube into the hole and sucked the baby’s brains out. Now the baby was completely limp. I never went back to the clinic. But I am still haunted by the face of that little boy. It was the most perfect, angelic face I have ever seen.

But what about if the baby had been aborted at a younger age.. say 6 weeks? When the baby is this young, doctors use the Saline Method, where they inject a salty saline solution into the mother’s womb. You would think it would just poison the baby, but it actually burns it to death. Even though the baby is so young, on ultrasounds of the abortion, the fetus is seen pulling away from the poison as it is injected.. obviously wanting to stay alive.(The baby is intelligent enough to move away from the pain..but the child can’t escape it.

Think about that before you say that unborn children can’t feel pain.

PASS THIS ON IF YOU BELIEVE ABORTION IS WRONG.

Life is life, no matter how small
A baby cries for it’s first and last time when it’s aborted
You can deny it, but its true.
A baby is a living thing

ITS A BABY, NOT A CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Janet Miller,
Thanks for posting. Just to verify, I did look up references to this story and found it in multiple places. I found nothing that refuted the story.
    Thanks for sharing.

  17. I completely agree with you. A Baby is not a Choice. It is a live human being whether the child has been born or not.

I don’t care how many hours Obama is on the road. That’s his choice and his punishment is showing his true colors. He’s telling millions of teenagers that it’s ok to have sex, get pregnant and throw that life away because they are not ready to have children.

Babies are not a punishment. They are a miracle and if you’re not ready to be a Mother or Father, then you take responsibility for your actions before you have sex. Simple as that and if you get pregnant and decide that you are not ready to have kids, there are so many people that cannot have them and they will glady adopt your child and give it the chance that it deserves at LIFE!!!!

God help this country if Obama does get elected.
    In God We Still Trust,
    Lindsay

  18. Have you seen the Oprah show about African American men that have gone down low?
It originally aired in April of 2004.

  19. it is a woman’s right to choose. i wont let a man take away the rights to my body.

this is nothing but a racist, rich people web site of shit!

  20. Lilly,
You won’t let a man take away the rights to your body???

But YOU feel particularly privileged to take away the life of a baby be it male or female???

(and it never ceases to amaze me how the left is incapable of debate, but masters of the nasty speech they accuse every one else of exhibiting…..)

  21. You are so right Sharp–the left takes offense to any opinion that is not their own and then spews hate and cursing and name calling back at the opposite view. Funny, “hate” is the very battle cry of the left-claiming that conservatives are filled with hate–yet, like you, everytime someone comes on my site from the left–they drop a curse bomb or call me a name. Some of my favorites-(Wack-job, blowhard, idiot, nerd [that was the best], racist, homophobe and nazi).

Lilly-unless you are an asexual hydra-the baby inside of you is not you–it is a separate and distinct person. You have the right to choose not to have sex, to use birth control–but you should not have the right to end the life of another human being without justification (self-defense, defense of others, etc…). Unfortunately for the silent voice of millions of little innocent lives, the law currently allows you to kill another human being for convenience of any reason–sad indeed.

  22. I think abortion should be legal. Although It is extremely unfortunate , If you believe you are unfit to be a mother and don’t want to bring something into the world if you can’t be its mother. Although, you shouldn’t abort just because you want to, thats a lack of morality

  23. Lilly, This is not racist, (I’m black) and not a rich peice of sh**. No one here is worth feces and I don’t know about all of you, but my parents arent rich (im am male minor) He is [Barack Obama] not doing this as a man, but as a person, otherwise this would be a totally racist hateful, sexist and alll the other isims and ists there are. even the good ones. It would be a world of total conflict. Some people need to stop taking things the wrong way.

  24. being a mother is th biggest responsibiility in the world so even if you make the mistake of conceiving, sometimes people think abortion is the only way out. Its a hard decision and you have to make a lot of big life changing desicions in your time on earth and a lot of pressure is being put on you and you have to decide what your’e going to do, if you will feel guilty, and what will be better for you and other people, even if they are unborn. even after, either way you will still feel guilty, lose sleep. If we humans had no moral we would always make the wrong decision. if we had perfect more we would always make the right one. but we are only human, so we have to deal with it.

  25. […] have also written about his anti-baby, pro-abortion statement that if his daughter became pregnant, the “baby would be a […]

  26. Too bad most of the “pro-life” people are also on the right. And that right is responsible for killing how many people in Iraq and other areas of the world? Or does “pro-life” really mean “pro-christian-american”? Seems to be.

This is the typical fear-mongering that the religious right perpetuates day in and day out. They’re a bunch of clueless hypocritical fools basing their ideals on the lies of the rich and falsely religious.

If you’re so pro-life why don’t you complain about the rest of the right wingers who are pushing corporate agendas that result in the poising of our populations through “medical” means (how many prescription drugs ads on tv these days?) as well as destroying the planet’s ecosystem (McCain and Bush want to start offshore drilling…yay for bandaid fixes).

Pro-life is a joke. It’s a slogan to win over soccer moms and religious zealots who go through life with tunnel vision.

I notice you have a John Adams quote on the page…try some Thomas Jefferson instead. http://www.nobeliefs.com/jefferson.htm

“History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes.”

-Thomas Jefferson to Alexander von Humboldt, Dec. 6, 1813.

  27. Shaleem,
Nice try….but keep the name-calling for your buddies on the left…

When you get a clue, try again.

  28. He was talking about how abstinence is the first line of defense against teenage pregnancy, the second line being contraception. HE WAS NOT TALKING ABOUT ABORTION, but the availability of condoms/birth control.

‘If” his daughters made a mistake and had pre-marital sex, then he’d want them to know about how to prevent a pregnancy, rather than having to deal with the hard choices RE: having a child.

The entire conversation was about reducing HIV transmission, which is about CONDOMS, not abortion.

  29. River-wind….
    Nice spin….very laughable.

  30. So I am a woman who was punished with a baby. I was 19 and wasn’t sure what to do so I went to a “Crisis Pregnancy Center” where they convinced me abortion was murder and there was tons of help for me out there. Well I carried her to term and guess what..there was no one…NO ONE..to support me in my choice. There were, however, plenty of people of there ready to help me give her up and, due to lack of options, I did. I champion people like Barack who want to save his children from this pain. If I could do it all again, I would have aborted in a heartbeat. I would never again go through the hell of being mislead, carrying and then allowing someone else to raise my child. It’s a nightmare I live with everyday. I am pro-choice to the core because, when you’re not ready, a baby can most definitely be punishment, especially if you were never given the information on how to prevent it in the first place.

I would like to request no personal attacks or replies to my post. This is a journey I don’t often share but people need to know that having a baby as a teenager is not all Gerber ads and baby powder smells. More like, how can I afford more diapers? What do I do since my paycheck barely covers childcare? That is the reality.

  31. Anon,

You mention that, if you could do it over, you would save the “child from such pain”. Abortion is an abomination and it is painful to the child. You DID save that child from pain and I applaud you for that.

You also made a choice and you made the best one you could have under the circumstances. Again, I applaud you for not aborting your child.

I also believe that as hard as it must have been to give up that child, you can take solace in the fact that you don’t have to live with the regret of having murdered your own chld.

You also did one of the bravest things one human can do for another and that is put that baby above yourself. Odds are that child is happy and feels very lucky to have been loved enough to be placed where she could best thrive. You are to be applauded for that also.

You did the right thing and for that you should be proud.
    Abortion is never the answer.

    God Bless.

  32. “I champion people like Barack who want to save his children from this pain.”

    Anon,

Sorry, you can’t post without accepting the risk of a reply. It’s a bit like having unprotected sex…you risk getting pregnant. I don’t buy that at the age of 19 that you didn’t know how babies got made.

Are you referring to the “pain” of living, or the “pain” of having to accept and deal with the consequences on one’s actions?

Children that will not be born into ideal circumstances should be killed before birth?

    This is “progressive” thinking?

There are many, many children that are adopted and grow up to live happy, pain-free lives. It would seem that giving up the child to a good home is infinitely preferable to killing it before it is born.

After making a mistake, you made it right. Let it go. The child will likely be fine…don’t confuse the child’s pain with your own.

  33. Babies are a gift. Lets get real, a kid at 15 or 16 is no blessing. America’s school system is a joke. We look like retards next to the rest of the world who is pumping out educated scholars. Do we really want a pair of stupid kids raising more stupid kids? Daddy working at McDonalds and mommy getting fat at home watching Oprah.

EDUCATE the youth. The brighter the minds the better our country.

  34. Hey! I’m at work browsing your blog from my new iphone 3gs!
