Michelle Obama’s “Fear Bomb”…what’s to fear?

From the Chicago Tribune:

Michelle Obama, who often has decried “the fear bomb” that opponents have used against her husband for his middle name — Barack Hussein Obama — said in Canton, Ohio, today that it is happening again, and shows why it’s so important that he wins election as president.

“They threw in the obvious, ultimate fear bomb,” Obama said today of her husband’s 2004 Senate race. “We’re even hearing [that] now. … ‘When all else fails, be afraid of his name, and what that could stand for, because it’s different.'”

So what about the name “Hussein” is fearful, Mrs. B. Hussein Obama?  If this is only about your husband’s opponents generating fear, then tell me, what is there to fear in that name?  I never heard Laura Bush say that “W” was used to generate fear; Nancy Reagan never thought much about her husband being referred to as Ronald “Wilson” Reagan…….what is it you are trying to hide in Barack HUSSEIN Obama?

Michelle Obama and those on the left would like to write off the use of Obama’s middle name as some “fear tactic” based on the fact the name sounds like “Saddam Hussein”.    Funny isn’t it?  The left, including Mr. and Mrs. Obama, didn’t think Saddam Hussein was dangerous enough or instilled enough fear in his people for us to invade his country?  So what’s to fear?  It’s Barack’s middle name.

I’ve taken flack for referencing Obama’s full name on my blog.  I don’t do it because I think it will instill “fear” in those who know.  I do it because Obama, so far, has gotten a complete pass in the media on his background, loyalties, and allegiances.   As happens with many names, his name represents pieces of his heritage and history.  And much of his heritage and history have not become known in the masses yet.   By pointing out his name, it can make someone in this day and age stop and ask…..what is his background for heavens sake?

Michelle Obama goes on:

“We learned, number one, that when power is threatened by real change they will say anything to stop it,” she said. “But we also learned that the American people can handle the truth.”

Michelle, have you ever stopped to think that much of America does not stand for your kind of change.  “Change” in and of itself can be good or bad.   And since Barack speaks in lots of platitudes it is hard to fully distinguish how it is he will actually make his brand of “change”.  I can tell that most, if not all, of his policies (thin as they are) do not represent good change:  pulling out of Iraq before victory is complete and risking Al Qaeda resurgence: moving one of the largest industries, healthcare, into the hands of the government; offering BILLIONS of dollars for UN aid, most of which will end up in the hands of African and other dictators; raising taxes and stifling investment and economic growth in the country……and I could go on and on.

She says “Americans can handle the truth”…..then what’s to fear…..let’s hear all about Obama’s name, how he received his name, who he is named after;  lets also hear about Obama’s preacher & spiritual adviser who presented racist/anti-Semite Louis Farrahkan with an achievement award;  let’s hear some explanation on why Obama felt so compelled to respect an African/Muslim culture by donning their robes and turban (recent picture in the news), but that respect doesn’t translate over to respecting the National Anthem with his hand over his heart or by wearing a US flag lapel pin because it is not his brand of patriotism?

Yes, Michelle, if that represents your husband’s kind of change…..then I FEAR it!
