Obama’s Brand of “Christianity”

It appears more and more everyday that there won’t be a President Hillary Clinton this time around…..I am enjoying the “fall of the House of Clinton” very much…….but I sometimes wonder if the other Democrat candidate, Mr. Barack HUSSEIN Obama would be worse.  It is like choosing to shoot yourself or stab yourself….each could kill you, it’s just which way you want to go through with it….(morbid analogy, I know, but a strong analogy to what either could will do to this country if elected!)

Anyway, my last article on Barack HUSSEIN Obama seemed to have ruffled a few liberal feathers……feedback seems to indicate they think Obama’s middle name (HUSSEIN) is not pertinent.  I have argued that a middle name of Hussein is certainly not the main topic of discussion about Obama (he has a long list of questionable policies and loyalties), but it is pertinent since Obama’s father had a Muslim background. Considering that HUSSEIN is not a common name in the United States, AND it is typically a Muslim name, it does make most Americans wonder what his background and ties to Islam may be.  That is a fair point in a world of radical Islam that wants to destroy our country!

My liberal commenting “friends” point out that Obama is and always has been a Christian (may or may not be true)……..well, let me tell you about Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s brand of “Christianity”……

I found the information on Obama’s church a few weeks ago and never got the chance to put some thoughts into words…this is my chance….

For the record, Obama doesn’t seem to attend  this church just to be seen by the cameras walking out Bible-in-hand…..like we so often were treated to by the Clintons.   By all indications, he is committed to this church and attends for reasons other than “faking his faith”……quite the opposite!  Barack HUSSEIN Obama  was married by the minister of this church, his kids were baptized in this church and the leader of the church is his “spiritual advisor”.    You have to give him credit for that kind of commitment…..but the teachings, value system and overall philosophy of the church are worthy of a deep look and debate since he aspires to be President………this is not your ordinary church!

Barack attends the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.  An excerpt from the Investor’s Business Daily article will give you a good quick idea of what Obama’s church holds dear.   (HINT:  You can also see for yourself at the church website)

At the core of the Democratic front-runner’s faith — whether lapsed Muslim, new Christian or some mixture of the two — is African nativism, which raises political issues of its own.

In 1991, when Obama joined the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, he pledged allegiance to something called the Black Value System, which is a code of non-Biblical ethics written by blacks, for blacks.

It encourages blacks to group together and separate from the larger American society by pooling their money, patronizing black-only businesses and backing black leaders. Such racial separatism is strangely at odds with the media’s portrayal of Obama as a uniter who reaches across races.

The code also warns blacks to avoid the white “entrapment of black middle-classness,” suggesting that settling for that kind of “competitive” success will rob blacks of their African identity and keep them “captive” to white culture.(my emphasis)

In short, Obama’s “unashamedly black” church preaches the politics of black nationalism. And its dashiki-wearing preacher — who married Obama and his wife and now acts as his personal spiritual adviser — is militantly Afrocentric. “We are an African people,” the Rev. Jeremiah Wright reminds his flock, “and remain true to our native land, the mother continent.”

All of that may be justified by some people, but I would not call that type of value system  one that unites, loves all, and keep politics out of its church walls!  Those are not the values I want in a President…period.   His church teachings are at odds with how he portrays himself.    This church doctrine does not unite, but divide; the doctrine doesn’t mention America or that its congregation are Americans, but that they are “Afro-Centric” and have allegiance to the “mother-continent”,  Africa.

In addition, Louis Farrakhan announced this week at a Nation of Islam conference that he backs Barack Obama for President.  Of course, Barack has distanced himself from the backing, saying he didn’t seek the support.  He said it on Monday and again at the Ohio debate tonight (excerpt of his debate comments).  However, you do have to wonder about the relationship when Barack’s preacher has a close relationship with Farrakhan.   From Investor’s Business Daily:

Wright (Reverend Jeremiah Wright) once traveled to Libya with black supremacist Louis Farrakhan to meet with terrorist leader Muammar Qaddafi. Last year at a Chicago gala, Wright honored his old pal Farrakhan, who’s fond of calling whites “blue-eyed devils,” for lifetime achievement.

It comes as little surprise then that Wright would think Israel a “racist” occupier of Palestinians, while describing the 9/11 attacks as a “wake-up call” to “white America” for ignoring the concerns of “people of color.”

Wright makes the Rev. Jesse Jackson look almost moderate and patriotic. Yet this is whom Obama picked to baptize his daughters, plus to act as his “sounding board” during his presidential run.

Great point.   I have a hard time separating the “oneness”-in-thought (and words) of Wright and Farrakhan from the Barack Obama rhetoric—-since one man backs Obama and the other advises him.

But hey, you decide for yourself if this is the type of “Christian” church you know and the type of values you want your President to embrace…….

First, read the Rev. Wright’s 10-step vision for the church (straight from the church website).  Most seem innocent enough:

  1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
  2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
  3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
  4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
  5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
  6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
  8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
  9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
  10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

But now you can read the ethics and values the church espouses….When I first found the Trinity United Church of Christ website last month, I found a reference to the ideas found in the “Black Value System”.  However, today I was not able to find that same information.  I did not find it from the links on the front page….. it appears that these references have been removed from the  church website, or at the least, made them harder to find (Isn’t that interesting?).  Luckily, I found the same information I had read before, on a blog elsewhere online….here it is:

Statement of Purpose

We honor Dr. Manford Byrd, our brother in Christ, because of the exemplary manner in which he has thrice withstood the ravage of being denied his earned ascension to the number one position in the Chicago School System

The Black Value System

These Black Ethics must be taught and exampled in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect the following concepts:

Commitment of God

“The God of our weary years” will give us the strength to give up prayerful passivism and become Black Christian Activist, soldiers for Black freedom and the dignity of all humankind…

Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect

To accomplish anything worthwhile requires self-discipline. We must be a community of self-disciplined persons, if we are to actualize and utilize our own human resources instead of perpetually submitting to exploitation by others. Self discipline coupled with a respect for self, will enable each of us to be an instrument of Black Progress, and a model for Black Youth.

Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”

Classic methodology on control of captives teaches that captors must keep the captive ignorant educationally, but trained sufficiently well to serve the system. Also, the captors must be able to identify the “talented tenth” of those subjugated, especially those who show promise of providing the kind of leadership that might threaten the captor’s control.

Those so identified as separated from the rest of the people by:

Killing them off directly, and/or fostering a social system that encourages them to kill off one another.

Placing them in concentration camps, and/or structuring an economic environment that induces captive youth to fill the jails and prisons.

Seducing them into a socioeconomic class system which while training them to earn more dollars, hypnotizes them into believing they are better than others and teaches them to think in terms of “we” and “they” instead of “us”…

Now, I’ve read plenty of opinion by others while researching his church that have said the “Black” church evolved from the days of slavery and that, basically, this church has evolved in the same way a “White” church has evolved over time…..that may be true.   However, most viable Christian churches don’t have a one-track focus on “self”, race”ethics”, blaming others, and the political and economic plight of “a people”…..Instead, the primary focus is on Christ Jesus and his gift of salvation FOR ALL.

If you boil down some of the words and views of this church, it is a church that preaches a form of Black Socialism and African Nativism….This is the place for which Barack HUSSEIN Obama has drawn his inspiration for 20 years!  I don’t know about you, but I prefer a President who draws inspiration from Capitalism for all and the greatness of the United States of America!!!!

  1. Go Girl..

  2. Look at the really smart folks who have endorsed Obama…Warren Buffett has endorsed Obama…Billionaire Penny Pritzker is Obama’s National Finance Chair…the founder of the ultra successful Citadel Hedge Fund Ken Griffen supports Obama…these folks all do their due diligence before they invest time, money and their credibility…I think these folks know a lot more about Barack Obama than some up tight bloggers who have an agenda.

  3. Guess I’ll vote with the dumb and “uptight” then…. wish we were all as smart as you “financial” folks!

  4. Gawd I can only hope you guys stick with the present tactics into the general election,

We hope to win by a large margin but if enough of you are vocal enough,

I see us cultivating a veto proof majority in the house and senate and taking most state houses, Keep up the good work of getting Hillary or Barack elected.

I am sincerly in your debt, its folks like you that put folks like us back into power

  5. techinvestor,

There are a few smart folks walking around NOT named Buffett, Pritzker, or Griffen. They may not be billionaires, but they manage to get through the day without too much trouble. They are doing their “due diligence” as well.

When it comes to politics, EVERYONE has an agenda…don’t insult us by insinuating otherwise. To date, people like Romney and Huckabee have had their religious beliefs examined far closer than Obama. He has clearly identified himself as a “Christian” while campaigning. We can debate how relevant it is to his potential as a President, but it is reasonable to take a look at what that means.

  6. P.S. Burton
Don’t let facts get in the way. You can read about Obama’s church yourself…..if I happen to disagree with the ethics of that church, it is not a “tactic”, it is called principle.
And, by the way, I took a look at your blog…..quotes like “the con man from Crawford stole the Presidency in 2000” and “Senator McCain launched the first swift boat attack of the political season” prove you don’t have a full grasp of facts…..you are just adept at conveying the latest liberal, Bush-deranged talking points of the day.

  7. Sharprightturn,
Why can’t we all just get along? One can argue that there is very little difference between the radical right (you) and he radical left (PS Burton for example):

Both sides are convinced they are always right
Both sides have little tolerance for any opposing point of view
Both sides if they had there way would force their beliefs on others
Given the stubbornness of both radical sides and their tendency to discount an opposing point of view it easy to make to statement that both the radical left AND radical right lack any sort of intellectual foundation for their beliefs which is probably why both sides resort to regurgitating the same issues over and over and over

  8. Anonymous (there’s that name again),
Perhaps you’re trying to stir the pot a little?
OK, I’ll take the bait…..Your comment sounds like someone caught in the “oh so correct, tolerant, most intellectual, independent” MIDDLE! What a place….sitting on the fence all of the time!
Some of us, left and right, do have strong principles and beliefs and believe it or not, we do have education and a foundation for basing our beliefs. That probably doesn’t sound possible if you really believe everything falls “in the middle”!
It never hurts to discuss and listen to those on either side. And I am open to listening. What I oppose is comments that impugn intelligence, excel in name-calling, and otherwise superior attitudes with no facts to back it up!
