The Best Vote for Life

Like most conservatives (and apparently over 50% of the country), I can not get my head around the thought of having to endure another “Clinton” presidency.  As bad as the last one was, something tells me a Hillary Clinton presidency will be worse!

I think it is imperative that Hillary Clinton be defeated.  She is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.  She is a socialist parading as a moderate;  she is a stonewaller; she is pro-abortion; she is a hypocrite; she is overly ambitious for power…..and those are her good points.

So, when I hear religious conservatives talk about running a 3rd “religious conservative” candidate, my stomach is tied in knots.  I know that if a “conservative” 3rd party candidate” is thrown into the 2008 election mix, Hillary will win.

Don’t get me wrong, I am about as conservative as they come….and I am conservative on all grounds: conservative, fiscally, morally—I am a bonified Pro Life conservative!

I can fully understand the dilemma that faces Republican conservatives if Giuliani is the Republican candidate (and it looks like he could be the one!)….he is not the most socially conservative gentleman on earth and he has clearly stated that he is Pro-Choice (Pro-Death as I like to call it.)

But is the answer to this Pro-Life problem to lift up a 3rd Party Pro-Life candidiate into the race?  In this particular scenario….I say that answer is a big fat NO!….Here’s why…..

In a perfect world, we would love to have a fully grounded conservative on the ticket.  Since we don’t get that in Giuliani, and if he is the Republican candidate, I say we get behind him to win…..he seems the most likely to have the credentials to beat Hillary…..and in a race between he and Hillary, a vote for Guiliani is THE MOST PRO-LIFE vote you can make in that circumstance.

If I have to choose between the lesser of two evils, as they say, where abortion is concerned, I will take the least abhorrent choice (Guiliani) over the one that believes abortion is power and a right (Hillary).  Guilani does “believe in a woman’s right to choose”, but has also stated he is AGAINST the torturous process of partial birth abortion and federal funding of abortions.  Hillary is for both and voted against a ban on partial birth abortion in the Senate.

Probably most importantly, is the fact that a President does not have a large amount of power over what will happen with abortion law.  They do have huge power, though, in who they choose to be on the Supreme Court.   The Supreme Court is key in any current and/or future abortion legislation that may be challenged.  In the next Presidential term, it is very likely that up to 3 or 4 Supreme Court justices will retire.  The next President will inevitably be appointing justices to the Supreme Court.

A USA Today article, after a meeting with Guiliani, quotes Sam Brownback as saying:

“Justices are key. He’s (Rudy Guiliani) stated publicly many times about his support for strict constructionists like, I believe he said Roberts. John Roberts is a personal friend (of Rudy’s).”

Rudy apparently will appoint Supreme Court justices in the mold of John Roberts…..It doesn’t get much better than that for a conservative.

So, in my view, if religious conservatives are going to base their candidate choices solely on one issue–abortion–a vote for a 3rd party religious conservative candidate is a vote for Hillary.

If we see Hillary vs. Guiliani for the 2008 Presidential elections, I think the most Pro-Life strategy is to have two main candidates and vote for Rudy Giuliani!

Would You Vote For This Woman?

  3. Hey, love the site.
And I also know from this “left” side, it to us is “pro-death”, but the right side will never see it that way. I have some pretty interesting stuff to show you. I’ll email it to you.
    Glad you did this.

  4. As much as I’d like to see a woman president, I don’t trust Hillary as far as I can throw her.
