Obama’s “Coalition of the UNWILLING” in Syria

In the New York Times today 8/30/13:

“Mr. Obama has made clear that this initiative would come from the United States, and that while he welcomed international participation, he was not depending on foreign forces for what would essentially be an operation CONDUCTED LARGELY BY THE UNITED STATES, from naval vessels off the Syrian coast.”

Obama in 2012 in comments to the press:

“For us to take military action unilaterally (in Syria), as some have suggested…..I think is a mistake.”

So what is SRT’s “Word of the Day”?:

Duplicitous: n  , pl -ties — deception; double-dealing

Why weren’t black Republicans or conservatives invited to the MLK March on Washington commemoration in DC today?

From the Washington Examiner today:

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., the only black person serving in the United States Senate, wasn’t invited to the event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s march on Washington, though a host of Democratic luminaries spoke on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. “Senator Scott was not invited to speak at the event,” Greg Blair, a spokesman for the South Carolina lawmaker,…

Apparently George W Bush was invited but is recovering from surgery…..aside from his invite, it appears that the invites went mostly to Democratic “luminaries”…not successful black people from all walks of life and politics.

To my knowledge a host of very notable conservatives/Republicans who are black were overlooked. Why weren’t they allowed to speak and share their experiences and insight?  I have a feeling that if they had been allowed to speak , we would have witnessed a reaction that might have proven that most of today’s message was more about validating leftist politics and victimhood than about the overcoming of injustices to blacks and the courage of Dr. MLK Jr….

A few include*:

JC Watts: In 1994, the first African-American Republican U.S. Representative from south of the Mason-Dixon line since Reconstruction. Pastor and college quarterback star at University of Oklahoma.

Condoleeza Rice – first female African-American secretary of state

Clarence Thomas – 2nd black Supreme Court judge, grew up poor in Savannah, the only black in his high school. He left priesthood seminary after MLK was killed because he “thought the church did not do enough about racism.”

Herman Cain – successful business man, Presidential candidate, radio host and was raised in “The Bluff” area of Atlanta where Dr. King lived at one time.

Mia Love – spoke at Republican convention, was mayor of Sarasota Springs, Utah and the first female Haitian-American elected official in Utah County, Utah

* most of this info came from a quick perusal at Wikipedia….not in-depth info, but enough to gather some of the high points of their accomplishments.

Obama hails the results of good works of Islam in America….

“Islam has contributed to the character of our country….As the Koran teaches, whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see its results…..Muslim Americans and their good works have helped to build our nation, and we’ve seen the results.”
Barack Obama tonight at White House Iftar Dinner for Ramadan

While normal, everyday Americans are now prohibited from touring the White House, the President celebrates Ramadan with Muslims in the White House.

Who, after 9-11, Fort Hood shooting, and the Boston Bombing, would believe an American President would hail the “results” of Islam’s contribution to America?

“That Lady Stands for Liberty!”

To honor the spirit of Rand Paul today:

“Just get up off the ground, that’s all I ask. Get up there with that lady that’s up on top of this Capitol dome, that lady that stands for liberty. Take a look at this country through her eyes if you really want to see something. And you won’t just see scenery; you’ll see the whole parade of what Man’s carved out for himself, after centuries of fighting. Fighting for something better than just jungle law, fighting so’s he can stand on his own two feet, free and decent, like he was created, no matter what his race, color, or creed. That’s what you’d see. There’s no place out there for graft, or greed, or lies, or compromise with human liberties. And, uh, if that’s what the grownups have done with this world that was given to them, then we’d better get those boys’ camps started fast and see what the kids can do. And it’s not too late, because this country is bigger than the Taylors, or you, or me, or anything else. Great principles don’t get lost once they come to light. They’re right here; you just have to see them again!”
—Jefferson Smith, played by Jimmy Stewart, in “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington”

““I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that our Constitution is important, that your rights to trial by jury are precious, that no American should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.”
– Senator Rand Paul (Kentucky), March 6, 2013, launching filibuster on the Senate floor in order to address the issue of the Obama administration’s belief that they have the power to kill non-combatant Americans in the US with drone strikes

Krauthammer on Michelle Obama’s speech: “I didn’t buy a line of it.” #DNC2012 #Liar #actionsspeaklouderthanwords #MichelleObama

Charles Krauthammer gave Michelle Obama high marks on delivery, but doesn’t believe a line of her speech.

Neither do I.  Actions speak much louder than words, especially where Barack Obama is concerned.

From Krauthammer:

“Looking at the scene, looking at how he’s conducted himself if the presidency  and particularly campaign, with ruthlessness and determination and drive it’s  not quite a plausible story…..I’m sure in the arena it was a  plausible story. I saw the tears but I’m afraid, I thought it’s a great speech  but I didn’t buy a line of it.”

It’s National Empty Chair Day…. #EmptyChairDay #ClintEastwood #Eastwooding #Obama

I’m sure you have all seen or heard about Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) last week.

(Source: NY Daily News)

His schtick of talking to an empty chair (Obama) has sparked a new fad called “Eastwooding”.   Eastwooding is photographing an empty chair.

And impromptu movement then decided that today — September 3, 2012 — would be National Empty Chair Day.  They have asked everyone to put an empty chair on their lawn and add signs/props/etc.  that fit the image of Obama as an empty chair.

I put my chair out today:

Beer Summit for the “Most Invisible Man in the World

And many, many other Americans did the same.  Some great ones:

Rare photo of a very young Barack Obama.

Obama takes his rightful place on Mt Rushmore!

Obama chair made from Obama supporters!

Only known photo of Karl Marx with Obama

Truth or Consequences!

More here, here, here, and here.

Let’s get rid of the empty chair on November 6!  Romney/Ryan 2012!

Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett spouts politics from the pulpit

Why is it that when a Democrat uses a church pulpit for politics and voter drives the Separation of Church/State crowd go silent……but when our kids say a prayer in public school, or we want a Bible in the school library,  or my pastor speak out against abortion in a pulpit —-well then the Left howls “Separation of Church and State”.

Oh and this isn’t just ANY Democrat, but Valerie Jarrett….number one friend and adviser to Obama.

The double standard is infuriating.
