Contrast this to Iran: Obama “meddles” in Honduras ELECTION politics to keep Leftist in power-UPDATE: Not a coup, but court order!

UDPATE:  Fausta’s Blog is writing that this is NOT A COUP, but the President was ousted by a court order!    Wonder if Obama is still “deeply concerned” that the law was upheld there?   From Fausta’s Blog:

An official statement of the Supreme Court of Justice explained that the Armed Forces acted under lawful grounds when detaining the President of the Republic, and by decommissioning the materials to be used on the illegal poll which aimed to bring forth Executive Power against a judicial order.  Other sources verified that the president of the Congress, Roberto Micheletti, will assume the presidency of the republic in a few hours.

Let me get this straight….Obama didn’t have the mettle to “meddle” in the efforts of young citizens of Iran protesting for freedom and being murdered and beaten by the thug Iranian regime.  Obama said the US couldn’t “meddle” in the Iranian election affairs….and didn’t even address (albeit weakly when he finally did) the violence of the regime for two days after it started!

However, let a Leftist tinpot dictator in Central America, namely Honduras, seek to illegally run for another term in the next ELECTION and Obama is all over it…..Before the ouster of Leftist President Zelaya on Sunday by his own army, Obama and Hillary were meddling in the affairs of Honduras!

The Obama administration worked in recent days to prevent President Manuel Zelaya’s ouster, said a senior U.S. official. The State Department, in particular, communicated to Honduran officials on the ground that President Barack Obama wouldn’t support any nondemocratic transfer of power in the Central American country.

“We had some indication that a move against Mr. Zelaya was afoot,” said a U.S. official briefed on the diplomacy. “We made it clear it was something we didn’t support.”

We’ve known for years that the Iranian population have yearned for more freedoms than they have been given.  Our budget has included funds for pro-Democracy efforts in Iran since Congress added it in 2004 and Condi Rice increased it with her request for more pro-Democracy funds.

But the Obama Administration has CUT funds for pro-democracy efforts in Iran.  From Gateway Pundit, via National Review and Newsmax:

Newsmax has learned that the Obama administration also has zeroed out funding for pro-democracy programs inside Iran from the State Department budget for fiscal 2010, just as protests in Iran are ramping up.

Funding for pro-democracy programs began in 2004, when Congress earmarked $1.5 million of the State Department budget for “educational, humanitarian, and non-governmental organizations and individuals inside Iran to support the advancement of democracy and human rights in Iran.”

The funding ramped up dramatically two years later, when Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice requested $75 million for pro-democracy programs. More than half of the $66.1 million Congress finally appropriated went to expand U.S. government-funded Persian language broadcasting services at Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

But no money has been earmarked for such programs in the administration’s fiscal 2010 foreign operations budget request. Congressional sources told Newsmax they doubted that a Democrat-controlled Congress would add it when the budget comes before a committee next week.

The same Obama who saw fit to meddle in the affairs of Honduras BEFORE the coup happened in order to keep a Leftist in power longer than that country’s Constitution allows…..is the same Obama administration that has CUT funding for PRO-DEMOCRACY groups in Iran.

There can not possibly be a person alive who does not clearly see which side of freedom, liberty, and rule of law Obama stands on…..Iran vs. Honduras gives a great example.

The Honduran army ousted and exiled leftist President Manuel Zelaya on Sunday in Central America’s first military coup since the Cold War, triggered by his bid to make it legal to seek another term in office.

Speaking on Venezuelan state television, Chavez — who has long championed the left in Latin America — said he had put his troops on alert over the Honduran coup and would do everything necessary to abort the coup against his close ally.

Here is a must read piece by L.E. Ikenga, a self-proclaimed West African-American woman from Nigeria who dubs Obama as an African Colonial.   Ikenga’s family emigrated from Nigeria in the 1970′s.

This is a fresh, and likely accurate, view of Obama.  Ikenga couples her knowledge of the complexities and history of the continent that is Africa with the mindset of Obama and his African family history.  Very compelling and thought-provoking. 

To me it also sheds light on how unlike most Americans Obama really is…namely how little he resembles the black Americans in this country.  I have more thoughts on this after the excerpts.

Had Americans been able to stop obsessing over the color of Barack Obama’s skin and instead paid more attention to his cultural identity, maybe he would not be in the White House today. The key to understanding him lies with his identification with his father, and his adoption of a cultural and political mindset rooted in postcolonial Africa….

My friends, despite what CNN and the rest are telling you, Barack Obama is nothing more than an old school African Colonial who is on his way to turning this country into one of the developing nations that you learn about on the National Geographic Channel.Many conservative (East, West, South, North) African-Americans like myself — those of us who know our history — have seen this movie before. Here are two main reasons why many Americans allowed Obama to slip through the cracks despite all of his glaring inconsistencies:

First, Obama has been living on American soil for most of his adult life. Therefore, he has been able to masquerade as one who understands and believes in American democratic ideals. But he does not. Barack Obama is intrinsically undemocratic and as his presidency plays out, this will become more obvious. Second, and most importantly, too many Americans know very little about Africa. The one-size-fits-all understanding that many Americans (both black and white) continue to have of Africa might end up bringing dire consequences for this country.

and regarding what Ikenga dubs as the African Colonial (AC) and the African Colonial Politican (ACP):

The African colonial (AC) is a person who by means of their birth or lineage has a direct connection with Africa. However, unlike Africans like me, their worldviews have been largely shaped not by the indigenous beliefs of a specific African tribe but by the ideals of the European imperialism that overwhelmed and dominated Africa during the colonial period. AC’s have no real regard for their specific African traditions or histories.  AC’s use aspects of their African culture as one would use pieces of costume jewelry: things of little or no value that can be thoughtlessly discarded when they become a negative distraction, or used on a whim to decorate oneself in order to seem exotic. (Hint: Obama’s Muslim heritage).

The African colonial politician (ACP) feigns repulsion towards the hegemonic paradigms of Western civilization. But at the same time, he is completely enamored of the trappings of its aristocracy or elite culture. The ACP blames and caricatures whitey to no end for all that has gone wrong in the world. He convinces the masses that various forms of African socialism are the best way for redressing the problems that European colonialism motivated in Africa. However, as opposed to really being a hard-core African Leftist who actually believes in something, the ACP uses socialist themes as a way to disguise his true ambitions: a complete power grab whereby the “will of the people” becomes completely irrelevant.

Barack Obama is all of the above. The only difference is that he is here playing (colonial) African politics as usual.

Also, understand this: the African colonial who is given too much political power can only become one thing: a despot.

 

Obama doesn’t understand much about the average African-American family in this country, nor has he ever come close to truly understanding the lives of their American ancestors.  As this author points out, Obama doesn’t understand the first thing about America’s values/ideals…and, ever since he burst on to the scene, I’ve learned that Obama has very little in common with the average black American in this country, much less other America-loving citizens. 

Of course, I know there are black and white Americans who believe in the Marxist view of the world and therefore adore Obama and his policies because of it.  Many Americans have been forever living in the Democrat welfare Utopia — which, I will admit, keeps those Americans in a nice little dependent place that fits right into Obama’s plans for our country.  They are a sure Democratic vote on election day.

However, in my mind, not much explains the average African-American’s adoration of Obama except that he is the first black President.   His skin color is where the similarities end!  Obama’s election as a black man is a momentous and a proud marker for our country, but his skin color is hardly a reason to elect, or continue to support, someone whose views and policies are so out of phase with the ideals and values Americans have fought and died for over the last 200-plus years.

Hopefully, Ikenga has helped us all understand that Obama doesn’t hold our ideals dear and why that is so.  Obama’s world view is 180 degrees from the view that our founders had in laying out the ground work for the greatest country in the world….. and Obama’s formative years, family history and beliefs are not even close to those of the vast majority of Americans—black or white.
